Dixie Ann (Dale) Gordon
December 9, 1947 – March 23, 2026
On March 23, 2026, Dixie Ann Gordon passed away, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, energy, and lasting friendships.
Dixie was born in Mesa, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert "Duck" Dale and Phyllis Dale, and by her niece, Sharon Flanagan. She spent her adventurous childhood moving frequently with her military family, living in a variety of locations both in the United States and abroad. These experiences helped shape her outgoing personality and lifelong gift for connecting with others and turning strangers into friends.
After graduating from high school in San Antonio, Texas, she attended Oklahoma State University, where she became a proud and active member of its alumnae community. She made her home in Oklahoma, living in both Stillwater and Oklahoma City, and built a successful career as CEO of Midwest Management Company, a real estate management firm.
Dixie was deeply involved in her community. She served as President of the Casady Mothers Club, board of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and twice chaired the Oklahoma City Decorator Show House. Her leadership, creativity, and enthusiasm made a lasting impact on the organizations she served.
In 2008, she and her husband retired to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she continued her vibrant social life. She was an active member of several women's organizations, including AAUW, PEO, and the Red Hat Society, forming many cherished friendships.
She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Bruce Gordon of Colorado Springs; her daughter, Dana Duggan (Murray Arenson) of Colorado Springs; and her sons, Kevin Gordon (Heather) of Western Springs, Illinois; Brian Gordon (Christy) of Edmond, Oklahoma; and Scott Gordon (Christy) of Yukon, Oklahoma. She was a proud grandmother to Ally Arenson and Ariana Arenson; Cole Gordon; Gavin Gordon and Austin Gordon; and Conner Gordon. She is also survived by one great-grandchild, Archer "Arch" Gordon; her brother, Robert "Bob" Dale of Brenham, Texas; her niece, Kimberly Hastings (Dale); and her nephew, Bobby Dale; her sister-in-law, Joanie (Bruce) Flanagan of Washington; her nieces, Beth Potarf, Laurie Flanagan and Eileen Flanagan; and her nephew, Bruce Flanagan.
Dixie will be remembered for her boundless enthusiasm, her welcoming spirit, and her insatiable love of bringing people together. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Dixie by breaking bread with a friend, a simple joy she cherished throughout her life.
