Donald Luallin Obituary

Donald Eugene Luallin was born on August 15, 1927 in Deepwater, MO and passed away peacefully on March 11, 2017. Don was the oldest of 5 children and left home at the age of 17 to become a Naval Aviator from 1945 until 1951. Flying for many decades after his Naval service, he shared his love and passion for aviation with his family and friends leaving a legacy of several pilots in the family.

Don met and married Charlotte M. Lightfoot in 1951. The two were married for 38 years until Char lost her battle with cancer. Don and Ione M. Brown met at their 45th high school reunion and the two married the following year. As a man of deep faith, Don touched many lives by his example and with words of confidence and wisdom during his long and full life.

Throughout his years, Don served as a Deacon and an Elder in several churches he attended. Don is survived by his wife of 25 years, Ione. Husband, Father, "Papa" and "GG-Pa"; he leaves behind a blended family of 6 children, 17 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

A "Celebration of Don's Life" was held for Don by his family and close friends a few days prior to his departure from this life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pikes Peak Hospice (2550 Tenderfoot Hill St., Colorado Springs, CO 80906) who provided support to his family and cared for him with compassion and dignity during the last weeks of his life here on earth.
