Evelyn Van Der Wege Obituary
Evelyn was born in Lenora, Kansas on November 3, 1924 the only daughter of the late Frank and Lena Koel. She was a resident of Colorado Springs since 1954. Evelyn was also preceded in death by her loving husband Dale L. Van Der Wege of 63 years; 3 brothers, Francis, Walter (Mary), and Raymond. Her daughters Donna Tolles and Marita Van Der Wege, her son Eugene Van Der Wege; and 3 grandchildren William C. Nelson, Jamie and John Van Der Wege.
Evelyn is survived by the family she loved more than life itself Wava Nelson, Eldon Van Der Wege, Marcia Nugent, Steven (Lori) Van Der Wege, Duane (Diana) Van Der Wege, Dale E. Van Der Wege, Carolyn Van Der Wege, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and other extended family.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:30 PM, Monday, September 8, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2030 W. Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to her faithful and devoted church of sixty years Sacred Heart Church in lieu of flowers.
The family will dearly miss her gentle soul, her giving heart, and comforting touch. Rest in peace our Dearest mom, grandma, great and great-great grandmother.

Your mother was a saint during her life on earth. Now that she is in heaven with God and your father and other family members she must be in her full glory. I am so sorry for your great loss. My husband and I can only hope that you all take comfort in the thought of your mom / grandmother/ great grandmother freed from the limitations of her earthly body now enjoying the wonderful existence she so deserves after a life so well lived. Evelyn was an inspiration to me. She taught me the value of love, kindness, and having a calmness that only faith can provide. Your mother was a very rare person who never said an unkind word about others. She dedicated her life to raising her 10 children in a way that was pleasing to God. It was a blessing for me to have the opportunity to get to know her and you, Carolyn. As your Mom's devoted caregiver, I commend your years of devotion to your Mom's care and pray for you as you go through this time of adjustment. Evelyn was a special lady whose light must be shining ever so brightly in heaven.
