Henry "Hank" Nall

Henry Nall Obituary

On September 19, 2007. Henry "Hank" Nall, much beloved dad, grandpa, uncle, and friend, died peacefully after a brave and spirited three year long experience of life after the effects of a right brain stroke. Hank was born on April 18, 1929 in Repton, Alabama into the family of James and Olive Nall, which included six brothers and three sisters. He grew up to be an admirable man with a very strong work ethic and enjoyed a successful 46 year career with Electrolux Corporation. After retiring from Electrolux, he spent the next several years of his life caring for his wife of 34 years, Rhonda, until her death in September 1990. He loved being able to look out the window of his home of 44 years in Colorado Springs and see the beautiful view of Pikes Peak. However, in December 2004 he came to reside near his family at Park Place Care Center in Georgetown, Texas after his stroke. Even through the damage and disability caused by the stroke, his ornery sense of humor and love for his family showed through. It was also there that he developed special relationships with and received extra fine care and compassion from Jean, Grace, Kathy, and Mary, as well as Lori from Lighthouse Hospice. With a strong and unique personality like Hank's, there were still many humorous and sweet memories made with those he cared about. Cremation was handled by The Gabriels Funeral Home in Georgetown and burial and a graveside memorial service will be held in Colorado Springs later in the summer. Hank was preceded in death by his brothers Cecil, Bruce, Earl, Levon, and Guy, and his sisters Hazel, Blanche, and Jewell, as well as both parents, wife Rhonda, and dear longtime friends. Hank is survived by his devoted family, daughter Cheryl and son-in-law Danny of Austin, Texas, their three daughters Dancey, Caitlin and her husband Brian, and Callie and his great-grandson Alix; also his son Tim and wife Mindy of Salt Lake City, Utah and his three other grandchildren Haley, Brett, and Camille. He also had a number of nieces and nephews who were immensely fond of him, along with his brother Frank, and dear friends all of whom share many memories of Hank. As Hank would have put it, he's gone home "to slop the pigs and feed the chickens". He will be deeply missed.

Grandpa was my rock and my soul. He will always be missed and will forever be my guiding light through this life. Life has not been the same without him and never will be.
I love you grandpa...your legacy will be passed on to so many through my years and you will be talked of fondly by all who loved you.

Having received a copy of the obituary of my Uncle Horace recently I feel I should comment on him to his family. My family in Baldwin County always looked so forward to visits from Uncle Horace when he was able to come home. He was always such a dear and caring person always making sure he ask about our family, our jobs, and our other friends that he had met on other visits here. He may have been living in Colorado but he was a true Southern gentleman in the finest sense of the word. I will always remember him and I will always have a special place in my heart for him.

My grandpa was so amazing in so many ways :) I just know he is eating more than any of us can imagine and cracking jokes again! I have so many great and hilarious memories of my grandpa and I will always hold onto them :)

I loved Uncle Hank. I will miss him, even though I didn't spend as much time with him as I desired to . He was a comfort to me as a kinsman and an uncle after my dad passed away in 1986. I hope and pray to renew my time with him in heaven.

I was sorry to learn of the passing of your father, grandfather. My husband worked with him at Electrolux and regarded him highly. My deepest sympathy. June Clemons
