Marcella Yagel-Hartsell Obituary

Marcella Fern Yagel-Hartsell passed away June 10, 2009. Marcella, known as Marcy, was a native of Colorado Springs CO. She was the youngest child of Earl and Doris Hartsell of Colorado Springs, born July 29 ’58. Marcy leaves many cherished memories with her two sons Josh and Matthew LaBonte; her three grandchildren, Destiny, Darius and Natalie; two sisters, Carol Sue Hanson (Stephen), Teresa Hartsell (Darrell), two brothers, Douglas Hartsell (Susie) and Dennis Hartsell (Linda). Besides her immediate family she leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Marcy attended school at Fountain-Ft. Carson High and Colorado Springs Christian School. She graduated from Pikes Peak Community College and earned a Bachelor of Christian Education at Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas in 2005. Her biggest love was for Jesus, her family and music. She loved to play the piano and played for a gospel group called the Travailers Quartet when she was 15. From then on she played in churches where she attended. For the last year, she not only played for services, but was also the Youth Leader at Southeast Baptist Church here in Colorado Springs. She had a passion for today’s youth and unwed mothers. Marcy was preceeded in death by her dear daughter, Dena Petit and her father, Earl Hartsell.
