Mary Ann (Hansen, Johnson) Lind passed away peacefully July 26, 2023 at her Bonaventure home.
She was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on October 31, 1932 and graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1951. Mary Ann had a strong and adventurous spirit. After surviving polio at the age of three, she was determined to learn to ride horses. She became an accomplished rider and was named the very first queen of the El Paso County Fair in 1951. Mary Ann worked as a switchboard operator at the El Paso County Telephone Company, a letter carrier for the Elbert Post Office, and a mailroom clerk at the Prorodeo Hall of Fame. Her most cherished accomplishment was being wife and mother, supporting her family in their endeavors.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her daughter, Kristy Johnson; former husband, Allan Johnson; parents, Robert and Mildred Hansen; brother, Robert Hansen; and sister, Barbara Hansen Pease.
Survivors include her three children, Doug (Kathy) Johnson, Lane (Judy) Johnson, Leanne (Chuck) Graves; grandchildren Tarah Leigh Lewis, Darnell (Erin) Johnson, Tanner (Jennifer) Johnson, Karleen (Jake) Booco, Krista (Albert) Sack, Desiree (Aaron) Johnson; numerous great-grandchildren; and her brother Don (Giner) Hansen.
Memorial Service, 10:00AM, Thursday, August 24, 2023, Church on the Ranch, 3685 Jeannine Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80917.
A private burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery.
