Robert Sullivan Obituary

Robert Sullivan died after a five year battle with Alzheimer's at the age of 78. He was born in Baker, Oregon to Larry and Vida Sullivan. After graduating from Roseburg High School he attended Oregon State University in Corvallis. He entered the Air Force in 1955, and was commissioned a 2nd Lt. His career included Flight Training Instructor, Air Operations Staff Officer, Fighter Pilot Special Tactics and Pilot Transport. He served in Vietnam flying F-4's. He also served as commander of the 141st MAS at Peterson AFB. Sully was awarded the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, AF Longevity Service Award, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Run and Gallantry Cross with Palm, RVN Campaign Metal and Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. He is survived by his wife, June Sullivan, his four children, Linda Sullivan (Jim), Steve Sullivan (Karin), Jill Carrico (Mark), and Scott Sullivan (by his first wife Charlotte Frank). He is also survived by his stepchildren, Linda Guiette, Debbie Pniak (Robert), and William Layton (Sally). Also by his grandchildren, Savannah Guiette, Nina Frant (Nikolai), Elise Layton, Emily Layton, Jennifer, Pniak, Jesse Pniak, Justin Layton, Crystal Sullivan, Keith Carrico, Neil Carrico, Connor Sullivan, Ethan Sullivan, and his Great-Grandchildren Celia and Isabel Frant. The family would like to thank his caregivers at A Doctor's Touch Assisted Living and Odyssey Hospice. A memorial service will take place on May 5th at 1:00pm at Faith Presbyterian Church, 1529 North Circle Dr. Colorado Springs, Colorado.
