On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, Shauna Mauro, 57, grabbed her wings and flew to heaven. Throughout her life, Shauna showered joy and kindness on everyone, and in return her beloved friends and family came together to support her in every way.
A lover of dogs, and the caretaker of many, Shauna shared countless friendships not only with the dogs, but also with "their people" who would become lifelong friends.
Born and raised in Colorado Springs, Shauna attended Divine Redeemer and graduated from Saint Mary's High School. She earned her bachelor's degree at Colorado State University in Fort Collins and had a career in the fashion and furniture industries which took her to California. With her natural ability to put everyone at ease, she was successful in a highly competitive field.
Her generosity knew no bounds, and now hundreds of people are sharing how Shauna touched their lives, bringing light and laughter into their worlds.
Her funeral will be Monday, August 5, 2pm, at Saint Mary's Cathedral, Colorado Springs, with a reception at Kinship Landing from 3p-6p. A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, August 8, 4p-6p, Mychal's Café, Redondo Beach, CA.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Shauna's name to Best Friends Animal Society www.bestfriends.org
