Teresa Vahsholtz Obituary

Teresa Kay Vahsholtz, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, died July 29, 2017 at Penrose Hospice following a long illness.

Mrs. Vahsholtz was born January 5, 1964 in North Bend, Oregon. The family moved to Colorado Springs where she attended school, graduating from Doherty High School in 1981. During her last semester of high school, she received credit for working in the criminal justice system in the office of District Attorney Robert L Russel. After graduation, she was employed in the District Attorney's Office where she rose to the position of Executive Secretary for Mr. Russel.

During her employment in the District Attorney's Office she received a paralegal certificate. She was employed in the office until 1985 after which she worked for Aries Properties, was employed as a paralegal in the El Paso County Attorney's Office and then worked at Ramtron, before working as a legal secretary / paralegal / office manager for Vahsholtz and Anderson, P.C.

Later Mrs. Vahsholtz went through a three-year culinary program receiving chef certifications. She was always interested in fine food preparation but was never employed in the restaurant industry.

Survivors include her husband, George; her mother, Ruth Mudrick; three sisters: Deanna Coleman (Leonard), Rose Smith, and Cindy Formanek (Bob); a brother, Greg Mudrick; two nephews; and three nieces. Her father, Leonard, preceded her in death.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, August 14, 2017 at Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to an animal rescue organization of the donor's choosing.

Thinking of you Teresa. Recalling fun memories of our group of friends and gamblers in Las Vegas. We had occasion to stay at The Rio. It was The Judges Birthday. You looked so tan and beautiful at the pool, so in love with George. My hope is you are at peace, heathy and happy. God Bless
