Albert Lee Kunau, age 87, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away peacefully on January 20th, 2023, with his family by his side.
Albert was born on April 11th, 1935 to Henry and Mary Kunau in Colorado Springs. He graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1953 and married his high school sweetheart, Helen "Claudette" Glover in 1956. Albert joined the IBEW local union 113 in 1955 and was a member for over 67 years.
Albert enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he loved spending time at the family cabin he built in Twin Lakes, Colorado, where he spent many hours in the outdoors fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed showing his classic automobiles. He and Claudette built their dream home in Colorado Springs and enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful flowers.
Albert is survived by his children, Steve Kunau (Dee), and Judi Hurley (Todd Rodas). His sister Elaine Clifford, his brother Harold Kunau, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his bride of 62 years, his sisters Joanna Leeman, Clara Hudson, Dorothy Higgins, and brothers Raymond, Elmer, and Robert Kunau.
A graveside service was held on January 27th, 2023 at 12PM (noon) at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery.
