Herbert Errol Hendricks
December 2, 1946 September 23, 2017
Herbert Errol Hendricks passed into eternal life in his wife's arms Sept. 23, 2017 following a heart attack and health issues. Herb was born on Dec. 2 1946 in Ottawa, Illinois to Herbert Daniel Hendricks and Marjorie Jean (Hinkson) Hendricks. He moved at a young age to Colorado Springs to a house his father built in Pleasant Valley. He attended Palmer High School, then travelled throughout the country before returning to his beloved Colorado.
An avant-garde thinker and doer, Herb lived life on his own terms. Though he followed in his father's footsteps into limestone mining, he was bitten by the gold bug and spent the next decades of his life in search of the great El Dorado. He journeyed far and wide to exotic locations around the world mining for the golden treasures he sought.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Margaret (Peggy) Hendricks, and his three loving children: Jessica Jean Hendricks (Santa Cruz, CA), Heather Margaret Hendricks (Aspen, CO/Carlsbad, CA), Thomas Malcolm Hendricks, (Alma/Colorado Springs, CO).
Memorial Contributions can be made to Gateway Presbyterian Church.
Funeral service, Saturday, September 30, 2017, 10:30 am, Gateway Presbyterian Church, 731 Castle Road, 80904.
Private interment will be at Fairview Cemetery following the service.

I recall Herbie from my Science class at Palmer. He was bitten early by the Beatles bug and was one of the first in our class to grow long hair. So sorry for the loss. My condolences to the family.
