Mary Grayce Watson went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus September 24th. She passed away from this life at her long-time home in Black Forest, Colorado.
She will be missed by her friends and family. She blessed us all greatly.
Mary Grayce graduated high school from Woodrow Wilson High School 1959. She attended Bob Jones University where she met her husband of 56 years, Gary Watson. They were married in 1968 at First United Methodist Church.
Mary Grayce enjoyed arts and crafts and made fantastic pies and cakes, and she was a talented seamstress who could make dresses and wedding gowns; she made her own and many others, and could fix or hem just about any piece of clothing you had. She made ornaments and stockings for Christmas for so many; she even kept spare presents around the tree for unexpected guests at Christmas. She was a long time member of the Black Forest Arts and Crafts guild, and was in the Red Hat Society for a time, even crafting other members Red Hats for them. She was so caring, and would do whatever she could to help those who needed her help.
Mary Grayce was preceded in death by her parents June and Jean Matheny, her husband Gary Watson, and mother-in-law Mary Ella Watson, and is survived by her sister Ann and her brothers Doug and Carl, many nieces and nephews, her two sons Scott and Ron, three grandchildren Jonathan, Caleb, and Daniel, and a great-grandson and a great-grand daughter.
Her faith in Jesus Christ was a guiding post in her life, and she showed His love in her interactions with everyone. She was positive and confident up to the very end, telling loved ones "I'll see you on the other side", and when asked how she was she said "ready to go"; ready to go where? "Heaven of course!" You too can have confidence in your life after death just as she did by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, just as she did, and you will see her again, or get to meet her for the first time in heaven. She was an absolute blessing, brightened the lives around her, and she will be missed.
A memorial service will be held at the Black Forest Chapel on Dec 5th at 2pm; 14190 Black Forest Road 80908
